sweet-scorpion | 1. Saturn opposite or square ASC could pose issues. I've got the former and it can make you seem cold, austere or too mature for the crowd. Even with a jovial or fiery Sag or Aries rising this aspect could seriously make you seem removed and this can easily turn off people who are more superficial and not as intense or mature as you are. This one also seems to quite easily give the impression that you're melancholic or depressed. If you suffer from a degree depression this one is going to make it Hell to hide. Don't even try. 2. Moon square ASC. This is coming from the IC, the home and family life point, or the MC, the career and celestial goals point. From the IC we have someone who gives the impression of being overly preoccupied with mommy or daddy, whoever - it can just seem abnormal how overly worried they feel about their family sometimes. Same goes for the MC - other more home-oriented or family people will feel offended or put off by how these people seem too obsessed with their career and personal goals, to the point that they could be willing to chuck family relationships out the window to succeed. I'm not kidding. I know 2 people who have the MC one and they have attested to this. Another way this can generate negative first impressions is, you can withhold your true feelings because your outward self is at odds with your inner self, so this can generate conflict very quickly when the 'real' you might slip through and confuse or disturb some people. It could even be in the same day of meeting them. 3. Uranus square ASC can be quite tough. Have a family member with this and they certainly have always been the hot topic of discussion behind closed doors for their 'odd' lifestyle. And in truth they really do come off as strange. So I imagine this aspect can make it tough for these stressful Uranian types to get along with more conventional or mellow types of people, many of whom build first impressions of 'wow they're weird' right away. Uranus square ASC can just make one seem odd at first in a bad way or untrustworthy in a sense, since they might seem too erratic or off in space to be trusted/counted on. Of course with any of my examples there are exceptions with benefic aspects to the ASC/chart ruler trumping these aspects. |
aquaguy91 | I have moon and pluto square ascendant, I hate it. my emotions and body language don't line up right, lots of times I'll appear angry/ upset when I'm happy. |

DepTaurus | I`ve always heard Pluto square ASC can make people feel rubbed in the wrong way. |

Hmm i have moon opposite asc and pluto square asc as well i wonder if there is any difference with the opposition to square when it comes to making an aspect with asc to the moon. i tend to feel a bit like you do.But not so much when i am with people i know but yes with strangers i just feel like running in the other direction. |

You got it right with those two - same here (and moar)... Moon, Saturn and Pluto in Square with Ascendent... With Moon square Ascendant it's very hard to display emotions publicly - you can try to act in a certain way which seems right for the time being - yet the body doesn't go with the flow (dealing with a blockage)... few days ago i wanted to kiss the hand of a lady like a gentleman ^^ - which was appropriate for that situation - yet "i couldn't..." - latter wanted to kiss her goodbye - and i couldn't (again) - I stood there for 5 minutes trying to overcome this "square" - and even worst "she was waiting" ... was one of those moments - cause normally i'd handle it better, wasn't the right place to do so... as in: open-up to that person, things will go easier once you feel comfortable in her presence... tho - still hard to deal with groups. with Pluto square Ascendant - you kinda wish to be in control of a conversation, but in same time you can give the impression of being untrustworthy - like someone who hides something... lies don't come easy so i'd recommend avoiding them (the truth can really set you free in this case - try being selective with what you'd like to say if you have something to hide)... wile with Saturn Square Ascendant - i can give the impression of a serious person (i can also be very quiet on first encounters).

Maka | My ex and the father of my child both have Moon square ASC...suffice to say the both have a problem with women.. Not attracting them though, women come in hordes to them. It's just they both have a bizarre and turbulent relationship history.. Plus they both had motherly issues...i.e. their mothers were overbearing.. |

Yes, having the Moon-ASC square doesn't necessarily mean women hate you or you have women absent from your life. It definitely can represent issues with the mother in childhood. A person close to me has Moon in Scorpio in the 4th square his ASC and his mother has ALWAYS been extremely overbearing and controlling of his actions, and he's compelled to defend her even though he knows he shouldn't and hates her sometimes. I have it from my 9th in Virgo and always felt I didn't get enough affection from my mother in the way I felt I needed it, so I was the opposite. But it makes me feel cold and austere to other people and also self-centered in the way that my personal goals mean more to me than family, like others I've communicated with who have the same thing. |

Yes, you've summarized it perfectly. It's does not matter if they both became the president their mother(s) would have something to nitpick about and this seems to carry on into their relationships. The bottom line that they both have equated to themselves over and over again is: "Women are never satisfied". |

...so far, the woman I was attracted to... :O - they all had/have daddy issues and/or ex boyfriends that abused their trust - and I'm suppose to pick up the pieces and try to make things right and restore their fate in men ^^ ... my Moon is in Aries 10'th house... |
Libreo | I come across as a dreamy flaky airhead, but not on first impressions. My Leo moon shines through on first impressions and people think I'm all bubbly and stuff. After that they see my Pisces Asc and turn away. I don't talk much, I observe, so they think I'm a snob or I'm anti social or unfriendly. Iv'e learnt to live with it. Good for getting past first base when looking for a job, not good for keeping one. |

Yes that sounds about right too, they both have very turbulent relationships for now. |

I have the Pluto square but I'm good with first impressions. Hell, my latest job interview had a supervisor say I was her favourite! I have a few Leo-Scorpio squares (Mars to Sun & Jupiter, AC to Jupiter & Pluto) but I think I work them well as I'm overall very confident and charismatic. Maybe it's a Jupiter thing? Jupiter relates to popularity and I have it conjunct Sun (confidence) and Pluto (charisma). |

Jupiter relates to optimism... if you have only Pluto square Asc (without the moon)- shouldn't be a problem with some people (unless you meet someone with a strong Mercury in Scorpio) - at least not when it comes to first impressions... this placement can work against you in the long run. |
meyray | Pisces Saturn square Gemini AS. A lot of times people think I知 upset or have a stern expression when I feel fine. If I知 in a situation where I feel uncomfortable or slightly dislike someone from the crowd I値l come off as a somber ice queen. On the other hand if I feel comfortable I値l be sunny, charming and talkative. I have a lot of Scorpio (Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Pluto and North Node) in my chart so the duality in my impressions is very intense. I値l either look like the Grim Reaper or Pollyanna. |
RedScorp | quote: Jupiter relates to optimism...
Jupiter relates to both optimism and popularity, but everyone only thinks of the former. Reasons, I know not why. Venus is akin to popularity too. Do you know how many Sun-Jupiter people I know (conjunct, trine, sextile) I know who are so large and bright, they can't even go out without bumping into people they know? If not Jupiter influence, then what? |

The Sun. ^^ |
LionFish | My fiance has Moon square ASC and Saturn conjunct ASC. He looks mad a lot and complains about people asking him "what's wrong?" or "why're ya mad?" when he doesn't have a care in the world. I wouldn't say he's more "mature" because of Saturn conjunct his ASC, just more sure of who he is and his likes and dislikes which can make him come off a little harsh occasionally and not all people can handle that. And then with his Moon square ASC, I think this is where people get the "brooding" look from. I was even guilty of doing the "what's wrong with you" thing when we first started dating, now I know better. And I'm guessing that alone could turn some people off. Who wants to be around somebody who's SEEMINGLY angry/unhappy all the time? Well, I did, but then again I'm a Pisces ------------------ Leo ASC, Pis Sun, Tau moon |
depth | Saturn in the 1st - I'm told I look haughty, cold..... Most people are shocked to learn that I'm a nerd. They go like "You and study? What's the connection?" I look like someone whose books are lined with silver fish. A lecturer initially looked down upon me because she thought I failed the previous grade. Aspect that causes this, I don't know. I've Uranus, chart ruler, in the 12th, if that helps. |
